Something that's scary isn't necessarily dangerous, while something that's dangerous isn't necessarily scary.
Public speaking is scary, but it's not dangerous.
Consuming random pills from the pharmacy isn't scary, but it's stupidly dangerous.
Don't confuse scary with dangerous, their correlation isn't as strong as you think.
